The BBC show Top Gear wanted to demonstrate exactly what happens when a train hits a car at a level crossing while going at 80 miles per hour (128 km/h).

Road safety is a serious matter, we know this and you know this. And Top Gear also knows this. Which is why they're taking the piss in this new road safety video which focuses on the danger of level crossings.

And high visibility jackets.

But, as we expect by now, it's really all about the smashing. Here's Jeremy Clarkson taking some time out of his busy life to watch as a high speed train hits a Renault Espace and gets shown from multiple angles. Action movie style. Can you guess which vehicle comes out the winner?

So... wear your high vis jackets everyone...
