One of the advantages to being a teenager in the world of social networking and easy access to the Internet is the birth of online stars.

While YouTube stars have been making a case for their creative work since the company launched in 2003, Vine superstars are perhaps even more intriguing.

From conventions dedicated to hosting the young talent to international trips organized for them, the world of Vine celebrities is only going to get larger.

Here are five of the biggest Vine superstars:

Nash Grier:

Nash Grier is Vine’s biggest superstar and one of the reasons its celebrity culture has grown exponentially over a short time.

According to Gawker, 16-year-old Grier rose to almost unheard of Internet fame overnight after a friend posted a Vine video of the North Carolina student heckling America’s Christian right. Overnight, Grier gained 10,000 followers.

As of today, Grier has 7.6 million followers with each of his Vine’s receiving upwards of 300,000 likes and 150,000 retweets.

Zach King:

Who says Vine can’t be a top tier art medium?

24-year-old Zach King, a filmmaker and Vine superstar, has been dubbed the Vine magician and even appeared on The Ellen DeGeneres Show to showcase his filmmaking abilities.

In his Vine videos, King takes something as simple as a person skateboarding  and exaggerates the activity, turning it into an unbelievable six-second video.

King was also named one of the most promising young filmmakers in America by YouTube in 2013. Keep an eye on this one.

Brittany Furlan:

Brittany Furlan has been dubbed the queen of Vine comedy, and it’s not hard to see why.

From crude toilet humour to borderline controversial gender and race jokes, Furlan has found an audience with millions of young Vine-addicted teens.

Furlan describes herself as a comedic writer and wants to get into television. Hey Lorne Michaels, is Saturday Night Live looking to hire?

Cameron Dallas:

Cameron Dallas is pretty close friends with Nash Grier, and it’s no surprise why: they’re coworkers as well as friends.

Dallas and Grier belong to one of the only groups that reps Vine stars. It consists of them and 10 other teenagers.

Described as a comedian by New York Magazine, and sitting at just over 4 million followers, it’s fair to say Dallas and his buddies aren’t going anywhere soon.

“Princess Lauren” Girlado:

Lauren Girlado is quirky, but a marketing genius.

She admitted to Business Insider earlier this year that her sponsor posts make about $2,000 each time, and additional views just increase the revenue.

With 2.7 active million followers on Vine, that’s quite a bit of college savings for the young Miami girl. Giraldo blends her Zooey Deschanel-inspired quirkiness with vibrant Miami attitude that works out her comedic side.

At 16, it’s a pretty impressive feat.
