Google's Chromecast service is fantastic for displaying websites and all kinds of media on your big screen TV, but Google isn't satisfied with this. Google's engineers plan to go one better with what they have dubbed the Open Project framework: an effort to create a standardized method of mirroring content as well as touch controls if the secondary device will support them. Check out the video below for more information on Google's Open Project.

Proposed set up for the system is pretty straight-forward: simply go to the Open Project server via your browser, scan a QR code using your device's camera and you're good to go. The idea of Open Project is to connect users to a platform on which they can collaborate on projects, play games together or enjoy media together, all without requiring additional hardware. Still in the concept stages, Open Project remains a seemingly distant dream, but then again, that's how most of Google's undertakings seem to start out, so maybe I'm just impatient.
