A Palestinian IT expert has exposed a Facebook security flaw by posting an alert on site creator Mark Zuckerberg's wall. While the bug was repaired quickly, the incident suggests that the social networking site is still more or less vulnerable to hackers.

When he discovered this security bug, Khalil Shreateh quickly reported it to Facebook through the page dedicated to this type of information. The staff of the social network promise a minimum reward of $500 to anyone who informs them of even the most minor security flaw.

The flaw uncovered by Shreateh allowed any user to share and publish links on any other Facebook user's wall. In spite of the IT specialist's detailed explanation, including a concrete example of the danger presented, Facebook did not take his alert seriously. It was only after he demonstrated the bug through the wall of none other than Mark Zuckerberg, Facebook's founder and CEO, that the site's engineers took action.

Facebook claims that the security breach has been closed, but it will not reward the unfortunate IT specialist due to the fact that he violated the site's terms of use.
