Gionee is claiming that its upcoming Elife S5.5 smartphone will be the world's thinnest at 5.5 mm thick, and will be available in 40 countries.
You may be wondering what is being sacrificed internally to save space, but the Elife S5.5 will come with a 1.7 GHz quad-core CPU and 2 GB of RAM. It will feature a 13-megapixel rear-facing camera and a 5-megapixel front-facing camera. Gionee claims that the device will last all day, thanks to its 2300 mAh battery. All of that is tucked behind a 5-inch screen of unknown resolution.
For now, China is the only country where it will be available; a 3G model is available for pre-order for $370, while a LTE version will be released in June. However, Gionee says that the phone will launch in 40 other countries, but it's keeping quiet as to which countries are being selected.
