Despite the fact that Twitter is kind of a big deal, when it launched its #Music service back in April of this year, it seems like nobody was listening. The app, which is available on iOS has failed to stir any meaningful interest from the public at large, and it looks as though the company is ready to pull the plug on its failed experiment.

Website AllThingsD is reporting that "abysmal numbers" have resulted in the decision to cancel the service being taken internally. The company has yet to officially make a statement on the status of #Music's future one way or another, but it certainly doesn't look as though it'll be sticking around for too much longer.

If you're one of the handful of users who'll be affected by the impending shutdown, we recommend taking a look at some of the alternatives available out there, including Songza, Rdio and even Sony's Music Unlimited service. Or you could, you know, listen to the radio for free...
