Music and zombies win out again as the top iOS apps for your mobile device.
As of Tuesday, Sept. 3, 4 Pics 1 Song was still the top free app downloaded from the Apple App Store, according to the iTunes Charts. Meanwhile, Pixel Gun 3D is still the top paid app.
4 Pics 1 Song is a music quiz game where you guess the name of a song, based on four picture clues. If you guess correctly, you win coins which can use to buy hints on the more difficult puzzles later on. (You can also buy hints with real money if you run out of coins.) The game was updated last month with new platinum record songs.
The second most downloaded free app is the mobile game Amateur Surgeon 3: Tag Team Trauma by the Cartoon Network’s Adult Swim. Working as rookie doctor Ophelia Payne, you must save people's lives in various locales, with unusual tools, such as staplers and car batteries.
Peta Vision's Clone Camera Pro is listed third in the the top free apps iTunes charts. Though, technically a mistake as the app costs $1.99 Clone Camera Pro allows you to insert multiple versions of yourself into a single photograph.
On the paid side, Pixel Gun 3D - Block World Pocket Survival Shooter with Skins Maker for Minecraft (PC edition) & Multiplayer once again takes the top spot. Sometimes spelled "Pixlgun 3D," the 99-cent 3D zombie shooter from Alex Krasnov lets you play against others in a “multiplayer deadmatch” and in a single-player survival mode. Pixel Gun 3D is also a skins maker for the PC version of the popular sandbox construction game Minecraft.
Speaking of Minecraft, the mobile version takes second place for the most downloaded paid app at the Apple App Store. Mojang’s Minecraft – Pocket Edition uses randomly generated worlds and features both creative and survival modes. It costs $6.99.
In third place on the paid side is Heads Up!, the 99-cent word-guessing game from Warner Bros., that’s been featured multiple times on Ellen.
