The new design will kickstart the Design 3.0 phase, which will see Samsung move away from the trademark look used by the Galaxy Note 2, Galaxy S3 and the range of Galaxy S4 branded devices. Apparently, this design phase will scrap the removable battery and utilize a unibody design instead.
'Inside sources' were cited in June as saying that the Galaxy S5 would be the first device from Samsung to feature an aluminum chassis. Of course, it was previously speculated that the Galaxy S4 would follow in the footsteps of the iPhone 5 and the HTC One and utilise a metal case, but obviously that didn't turn out to be the case. It's unlikely that Samsung will talk about the S5 for some time, so file this very much under "rumour" for now.
