In what is surely one of the most random feats of licensing in gaming history, Activision has confirmed that none other than sci-fi legend The Predator, will feature in the latest DLC pack for Call of Duty: ghosts.
Devastation will add four brand new multiplayer maps, a new weapon and the second part of the Extinction campaign storyline when it launches on April 3 as a timed exclusive on Xbox One and Xbox 360, but all the talk is on how exactly Infinity Ward have managed to tie one of the most famous aliens in movie history into a reasonably grounded first person shooter.
While no such information has been forthcoming, the trailer for Devastation clearly (well... that's relative really) teases the character, and confirmation from the game's publisher has removed any doubt, but the whole thing nevertheless feels a little bit strange.
We're not complaining, though, Predator is just about as kick ass as it gets, and this could be a pretty epic move. Whether or not it signals further forthcoming Activision involvement with the Predator brand remains to be seen, however, but we wouldn't rule something out down the line.
