As a franchise, The Legend of Zelda has always held a few hidden secrets and treasures for those who like to explore or have an eye for a piece of scenery that's out of the ordinary. In The Legend of Zelda: A Link Between Worlds, players will be able to rent or purchase bombs immediately, according to Producer Eiji Aonuma. While renting bombs sounds a little like a misnomer, it will enable players to open up new areas early on in their game.
Naturally, other items will also be available early on and they cost more to buy outright than to rent. Eiji Aonuma added that there will be plenty of money, and greater amounts of it, located around the world to enable players to take advantage of this system.
Other areas will be less accessible and will rely on Link using portals to visit the land of Lorule. This is a world similar to Hyrule, which used to be beautiful and full of promise. From the gameplay shown, it seems to feature more monsters, but exploration will reap its own rewards.
The rental system could crop up in future games too, as Eiji Aonuma hinted that some of the mechanics within A Link Between Worlds could act as a base for future games. He explained that things seen could be further refined.
The Legend of Zelda: A Link Between Worlds will be released on Nov. 22 on Nintendo 3DS.
