Halo 4 (Xbox 360)

With the release of the new Majestic Map Pack, it's time to dive back into Halo 4's multiplayer madness and get our butts handed to us by those who've been playing the game ceaselessly. This downloadable trio of maps - Skyline, Monolith and Landfall - offer a nice variety of new environments to wage war in, as well as 10 new achievements. The Majestic Map Pack sells for 800 Microsoft Points (about $10), but is free to folks who bought the War Games season pass or the limited edition of Halo 4.

Uncharted 3: Drake's Deception (PS3)

The multiplayer component of 2011's action-adventure epic is now free to play - just hit up the online PlayStation Store and download it. The only catch is it's only free up until level 15, and map packs still cost extra. Still, Uncharted 3's multiplayer component is an absolute ton of fun, especially for players who might not be so enamoured with the ultra-twitchy offerings of Call of Duty and its ilk. Sample it if you never have before.

Mass Effect 3 (Xbox 360, PS3, PC)

Rounding out our trifecta of multiplayer fun, we're going back to Mass Effect 3 for the new Reckoning downloadable content, which adds six new characters, seven new weapons and other goodies to Mass Effect 3's surprisingly enjoyable multiplayer modes. Even better than that is the price: free! Though we've already dropped a small fortune on those damn item packs. So it evens out.
