The latest video for March 5 release Tomb Raider is a ten-minute clip pulled from one of the game's missions, as heroine Lara Croft makes her way down a treacherous mountain toward a friend in need.
Illustrating the game's desire to keep players on their toes, confident in Lara's abilities but unsure as to what surprise will be sprung on her next, the walkthrough portrays the heroine as observant, clever, and a loyal friend. And pretty handy with a bow, arrow, and shotgun.
She's also a remarkably hardy survivor, certainly in comparison to her enemy combatants, not only surviving a shipwreck but fearlessly ziplining over bottomless chasms and walking (perhaps limping) away from a parachute accident.
The Xbox 360, PlayStation 3 and PC game had previously been delayed from late 2012 and, when it arrives on March 5, will be the first big title of 2013 to thrust a seemingly ordinary person into an extraordinary contemporary circumstance -- Dead Space 3 exists as a sci-fi alternative, with PlayStation 3 title The Last of Us following in May.
