Coinciding with the start of this year's North American ice hockey season is a new trailer for video game equivalent "NHL 13."

The rescheduled NHL season starts on January 19, 2013, postponed from its original commencement on October 11, 2012.

That lock-out delay gave "NHL 13" four months to rack up a raft of positive reviews, with IGN, GameSpot and Strategy Informer among those praising it for its incremental improvements to the series formula.

Those who prefer to seek out their ice hockey gaming experiences away from Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 may appreciate "Ice Rage" and "Icebreaker Hockey" on iOS and Android, while the four-player scramble "Hokra" is expected in fall 2013 as part of the Sportsfriends package.
