Nintendo Wii Mini redesign due next month?

A Wii Mini is due at retail from December 7, according to retailer information obtained by Nintendo World Report; the package is to include a Wii Remote Plus, Nunchuck, and sensor bar.

A smaller Wii would fit in with traditional Nintendo strategy -- redesigned NES and SNES models were released after their successors had been introduced -- and, should budget match size, provide a way into the Wii's catalogue of games for wallet watching shoppers, as well as further competition for Apple TV and the upcoming Ouya console.

And despite the newer, more powerful Wii U having launched in North America on November 18 (due in Europe November 30, Japan December 8), Nintendo indicated that the Wii was still on its radar after issuing an official YouTube app for the legacy Wii mid-November.
