Tech industry experts claim that Apple is trying to launch its next tablet before the end of the month and that publications expect to receive invitations to the press event in the coming days.

Over the last 24 hours, Branch, the social discussion site, has come alive with rumors, courtesy of some of Apple's highest profile bloggers, that the company is getting ready to launch the next generation iPad and hopes to send out press invitations to a launch event this month.

"I've been hearing rumblings of an April event for sometime now, as I'm sure we all have. But so many factors could be in play. The Spring has traditionally been iPad season and we're hearing about cutbacks in larger iPad supply," posted Fox News anchor Clayton Morris; he believes that Apple can't afford to waste the extra publicity a spring event would generate. "My money is still on a Spring event that hits in late April or early May. I can't imagine Apple giving up an entire 6-7 months of news cycle to the competition in order to wait for WWDC. Not going to happen," he said.

While the debate attracted a number of experts, including The Next Web's Mathew Panzarino, Engadget's Tim Stevens, MG Siegler from TechCrunch and Daring Fireball's John Gruber, and the posts cover everything from the rumors surrounding the iWatch to whether or not the next iPhone will feature a biometric scanner, the experts seem to agree on one thing: Apple is trying to get the next iPad ready for an April launch and that it will reflect the same design as the existing iPad Mini, enabling it to retain its current 9.7-inch display while reducing its overall size and weight, making it even easier to hold in one hand.

Rumors of this change in form first appeared in January when images leaked that were claimed to be of the new device's rear casing.
