At this week's Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas, UK company Fitbug -- maker of the Fitbug Air fitness tracker -- unveiled three new Bluetooth 4.0-enabled products to compete with Withings and Fitbit: the Fitbug Orb activity tracker, the Fitbug Wow smart scale, and the Fitbug Luv blood pressure monitor.
While a slew of $100 or more activity trackers are competing for buyers, Fitbug's new Orb sells for $49.99 and can be worn in seven different ways on the body, including with a magnetic strip on your underwear. The device tracks activity and sleep and syncs via Bluetooth with iOS devices and the Samsung SIII. The device is available for preorder and ships in May or June.
Personal data can be uploaded to the Fitbug cloud and is then accessible via your personal account on the website. Users pay a monthly service to access the cloud: pricing ranges from about $60 per year to $4 per month with a $30 upfront cost.
The company is currently seeking approval from the US Food and Drug Administration for the Fitbug Luv, but it hopes to ship the product in June for $79.99.
The Fitbug Wow scale costs $114 or $163, depending whether you purchase it with or without the Fitbug Air tracker.
