An Australian designer has used his skills to present a conceptual re-design of the world's largest social networking site. On Friday, the re-design quickly went viral across the web, appearing on numerous tech blogs.

The re-design of Facebook was made by designer Fred Nerby and can be viewed at behance.net/gallery/Facebook-New-Look-Concept/6504647.

The design features horizontal scrolling, places more emphasis on pictures, and boasts a black, rather than the current white, background plus pop-ups for status updates and comments that appear when the user rolls the mouse over the corresponding button.
